Black Rock Station in foreground, Gerlach behind, and Selenite Peak in the distance

I’ve recently moved to Gerlach, Nevada for the summer, where I’ll be working at the Bureau of Land Management’s Black Rock Desert-High Rock Canyon visitor center. Everything about this place bewilders, awes, and intrigues me, so I expect to be doing plenty of writing throughout my stay. In the meantime, seeing as how I’ve just received a brand-new digital camera from my lovely Leah, I thought I’d share some pictures taken from just outside the station. More words and photos forthcoming.
